london calling

Hey guys! I am going to be traveling to London tonight so blog posts will be a little scarce the next few days. I will try to get some posts up as per usual but - well - I want to have fun too! Here is some Clash action for ya in celebration.

jet pack flight

Oh Austin, how I miss thee. Only there would some dude fly in a jet pack in some weird underoo get up. The awesome part of this clip is in the beginning when he flies. The rest of it is him talking about how he thinks he's awesome because he has a jet pack.

facebook irl

Have you ever thought about what facebook would be like in real life? I mean really - it would be a bit silly. These two Brits show their funny interpretation. Points for the scrabulous mention.

beat kids

Oh Wonder Showzen - why have you gone away? This is a clip from their "Beat Kids" segments - which featured a slightly bratty slightly witty slightly innocent little boy who would go out on the beat and ask New Yorkers baited questions. In the clip below, he is dressed like Hitler while doing so.

[VIA]

japanese library torture

This is an older clip of a Japanese game show set in a library. It is set in a library because they need to be quiet there. Unfortunately, the game is a series of torturous things that happen to the person who draws the torture card and they then have to be quiet through their punishment. Meanwhile, their competitors also have to be quiet and not laugh while the punishment happens. Its kind of like being at school and laughing while passing notes, though instead of notes people have to do icky things.

dancing cats

Did you want to see some dancing cats today? Of course you did! Here is a video with some dancing cats all over random things - catchy tune too.

reenactment gone awry

This is a spoof of those reenactment shows where someone narrates a thing that happened to them and reenactments are cut in between the narrative. Trouble is, this particular flashback is not quite the way things happened... or is it?

Remember the amazing sketch comedy show The State? If you do, then you surely will remember this clip - Barry Lavone talking about how he bought $240 worth of pudding - aww yeah.

Annoying coworker? Clearly the air horn is the way to go - see it in action...

You know those kind of creepy mime-esque human statues? The ones that usually paint themselves all one color and stand REEEEEEALY still in hopes people will toss money in their hat? Well, this one guy decided to make a human statue move - and it worked.

solar powered robot

Have you ever wanted to make a robot that climbs rope? Well today is your lucky day then! This video will show you how to make a nifty solar powered rope walking robot with some wood, a solar panel, a motor and some wire. The best part? It walks with its hands across rope.

institute against fun

I think this is a commercial for potato chips but it is subtle enough that it is ok. It is disguised as a vintage informative clip whereby they describe the happenings of their NOLAF institute against fun and all things fun... and moonboots.

do it backwards

Have you ever wanted to order coffee backwards? Well, with a nifty contraption of two video enabled cell phones, you can! Check out the - interesting - invention in action.

an honest college ad

What if college commercials REALLY told you how it is. Well, This one does just that...

kitties heart crusha

This is a clip of a "magic trick" that scares the bejezus out of everyone watching. It actually is kind of disturbing. Get ready for some shock "magic."

robo bike parking

This is a clip showing the new robotic bicycle parking tower in Tokyo. The reporter goes into the framework to see just how the robot parks the bikes on the skinny little parking spots. Considering how the trains are like there, its no wonder the bikes have a similar overcrowding! This seems to be a nice solution.

tetris theme song

This is an interesting musical performance of the tetris theme song. It is done by 3 people while blowing glass bottles to conjure up the sound. Good times.

what's my line dali-ized

This is a clip of the 1950s game show What's My Line featuring artist Salvador Dali as the guest who the panel had to guess what he did - blindfolded. It is really funny because Dali is so multi-talented that he would agree to most questions and ended up confusing the panel.

[VIA]

indian superman and spider girl

This is a clip of an Indian Superman flying and dancing with his lady love Spiderman girl. They fly, they get invisible, they fight crime, they make out, and I think the best part is about 4 minutes in when they land in the middle of what looks like an audition for the Thriller video and have a bit of a dance party. The green screen cloud dancing at the beginning is pretty funny too. Check it out.

squirrels gone wild

We all know about the infamous Girls Gone Wild where wasted ladies lift their tops for the camera - but did you know squirrels had their own version of the show? Well they do - and its pretty strange...

hamstar wars

OK. I don't know exactly what is going on in this video but here is my interpretation: There is this Japanese show where they act out Star Wars with hamsters and a kitty cat as the dark lord of space who is plotting to get the hamsters. People who are involved with the show give the animals voices and speak for them, There is also this random bit where they make the hamsters squeeze into tubes and another where they are tightrope walking - both just for kicks. This has to be the strangest and yet most amazing 7:44 of the day. Enjoy!

another odd japanese commercial

Here we have another weird Japanese commercial. This time, we have a Little Red Riding Hood in the forest where she encounters woodland animals and proceeds to do a little dance. Then she encounters a raccoon and, well... watch and see.

your studio and you

This is a video that Trey Stone and Matt Parker (of South Park fame) were commissioned to do in 1995 for Universal Studios. It is made to look like an old timey video but is really funny and has lots of cameos. The two parts are here.

hidden innuendoes

This is a clip from a British children's TV show called Rainbow. This wasn't a typical "for the kiddies" episode as it was a special sketch produced for the staff for Christmas. They really got into their theme - pretty much every other sentence is some sort of sexual innuendo. How many did you catch?

behind the fake music

Remember Behind the Music? That was the VH1 show that followed a band from its humble beginnings to its happy (and usually destructive) time at the top, then through its plunging fall. The video below is a really well done parody of the show following a band you have never heard of. The beauty of it - they hit all the story arcs that one would expect from a Behind the Music episode.

You are about to witness the single greatest ad for the single greatest technology-meets-fashion accessory EVER. Behold, the MUSIC VEST. Seriously folks? The commercial is beyond amazing for a myriad of reasons but I want the name and number of everyone who ordered one of these so I can call them and ask them what they were thinking.

w.t.h. bruce?

This is a video of Bruce Springsteen (aka THE BOSS) singing a rockin' tune with his band about Microsoft Vista. I don't know if this was a commercial or something that was produced for a conference but what the hell?? This is really strange. Though I do love the shot of the guy in the suit totally rocking out. Rock out, little buddy, its ok.

mgmt

MGMT is this awesome band from Brooklyn and a fan made a really amazing video of their song "Kids." It features "another techno-pop group. Due to the popularity of this video, they'd prefer not to mention the name of their band just yet" - I SO think it is Crystal Castles, or more likely Hearts Revolution under that kabuki makeup - how about you?

Here are two more videos - which actually feature the band.

Click here to see the other one!

the prank of 1000 balloons

These kids' roommate was out so they decided to prank her by filling her room with 1000 balloons. The first 45 seconds of the video is a photo slide show of them prepping for the prank and then it cuts to live video with the roommate walking into her newly occupied room. The rest of the video is fun with balloons. Good 'ol harmless pranking.

skatetown USA

Renee just sent me a link to the trailer of Skatetown, USA which features the likes of Scott Baio, Maureen McCormick, and Patrick Swayze. Aside from all the skating and disco lights, I think the announcer is the best part. Take this gem: "Where boy meets girl; In a celebration of love. On wheels." So deep!

And just for fun, here is another 70s skating movie trailer.

some illusions for ya

This is a video of non-animated illusions - though your mind may make some appear to be animated. Warning - if you have a headache, maybe skip this video till its gone!

That's right! It launched yesterday where users can upload their own videos. The quality is really good and there is a pool with videos from flickr staff. Here are some of the videos you will encounter there:

get the marshmallows

Here we have another weird Japanese game show. This one has folks clamoring for marshmallows dangling on a string while their faces are being held back by rubber-bands. Very eenteresting indeed.

retro kid illustrations

Flickr has this nice Retro Kid pool where people add classic illustration from various kid-themed items but it is interesting to see how a lot of them read as just really great design. Here are some examples:

Here is a skit which is a fake expose' about conditions at a blogging ring. It likens blogging to a sweatshop or a puppy mill. Check out the situation in which these poor bloggers are living!

first day at ninja school

This is another funny skit from Whitest Kids U 'Know - this time they examine the hard times of being a ninja on the first day of class. Let's ponder this a moment, shall we?

happyness factory

Coca Cola introduced their second installment of their Happyness Factory which was produced by PSYOP. Lots of animation mixed with live action. Click the pic below to go to the video.

surfing pup

This is just random enough to post. This is a video of a dog who likes to surf. At the beginning he is riding along on his owner's board then we see him rocking his own boogie board. He certainly surfs better than I do!

twirling bear

A bear in a Japanese zoo is entertaining the crowd by twirling a stick like a kung-fu master. He looks to be having more fun than our ice skating friend.

don't do drugs

...Or this guy will rap at you! This is "Devistatin' Dave the Turntable Slave" performing The Zip Zap Rap and telling kids to stay away from drugs. Don't smoke that Coke, ok?

how to freak a kid out

Have you ever pondered what animal mascots do when they aren't working? Well apparently they booze it up and try to take out one another. Here is a clip of that in action - complete with freaked out kid.

people acting like animals

How do you think animals act? A group of French people decided to take on just that very question and act out how some of their favorite animals act.

how to make a viral video

This is a video based on this article for Tech Crunch. It outlines ways to make videos become super popular on the internets.

laser cats - in 3D!

This is the second third installment of Laser Cats from Saturday Night Live. The selling point of this skit (to Lorne) is that there is 1 magical scene in 3-D!! My favorite part is the laser puppy fighting with the laser cat. Adorable to the max!

akon calls t-pain

What happens when 2 rappers call each other? Lots of vocoder effects of course!

its too pretty to blog

that's not right..?

I am 99% sure this is for some comedic act - but it is a little creepy. Here is a duet with a guy and a kid and the guy is getting his pedo-on - licking him and the like. The kid is laughing so it must be a joke, right?

jimmy kimmel hangs out with richard simmons

Remember the last time we saw Jimmy Kimmel? Well now he is hanging out with afro-ed fitness guru Richard Simmons for a cameo-laden "Journey of Health." Let's see how that turns out.

beaded spider web

I don't know much about this photo except it appears to be a beaded spider web. It kind of reminds me of one of those poor spiders on drugs.

baking bread is like making love

Remember my last bread-making video? That was quite amazing but this next one takes it to another level. I don't know who he is but he seems to be a blissed out Mystery-wannabe of the bread baking world. He made a loooong video to tell you that baking bread is like making love. Click the pic to go to the video and hear him tell you all about his theory.

your mother...

It was only a matter of time before the College Humor kids took on the classic Yo Mamma (how amazing is it that there is a wiki for it??!) joke and made a whole skit out of it.

say it ain't so, rocky

Did you know Sylvester Stallone was in a porn flick? Well, he was, and it was called The Italian Stallion (though originally titled The Party at Kitty and Stud's). We saw this trailer last year at the screening of the Daft Punk movie and found it quite amusing - hopefully you will too!

the art of the foley

The guys over at Human Giant decided to spoof Foley Artists who are responsible for making enhancements to the sound on film. They do things like sizzle water on a hot pan to make a sound similar to a downpour. Let's watch Ken Prescott do his job, shall we?
